Member Business Directory
One of the benefits of membership of the Herb Society - our members are entitled to have their businesses listed on our web site. Forms to submit your information to be posted on the site are available from the Membership Chair at General Meetings or contact the web master at: herbsocietymb@mts.net. Get your business listed on the Internet.

The Bev Lloyd Memorial Library
The Bev Lloyd Memorial Library is a great resource available to members of the Herb Society. Books can be loaned out at General Meetings of the Society. Each year, all books are collected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is held in June, and are then made available again for borrowing the following September.
If there is a specific book you are interested in borrowing, you can contact the Library Chairs at: herbsocietymb@mts.net to check on availability and arrange for that particular book to be brought to the next General Meeting. Due to the increasing size of the library, not all available books are brought to each meeting. Emailing in advance ensures that the book you want to borrow, if available, is brought to the next meeting for you to borrow.

Herbal Programming
One of the benefits of membership of the Herb Society is our informative programming. General Meetings of the Herb Society of Manitoba are held at Assiniboine Park Conservatory. The Conservatory is located at 15 Conservatory Drive in Assiniboine Park, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and are generally held on the second Thursday of each month except for December, July and August. The schedule for this calendar year is listed on our Speakers page. Attendance at meetings is free to our members. Guests are welcome. There is a $5.00 fee for guests to attend.

Meetings generally begin with a brief presentation of Herb Society business, then there is a short break. The Hospitality Committee provides herbal goodies for everyone to try during the break. Right after the break, the speaker begins their presentation. To find out more about other upcoming events, check our Herbal Happenings page. Questions or ideas for programming, please contact the web master at: herbsocietymb@mts.net.
Herb Garden
The Herb Garden located near the Conservatory at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg Manitoba is one of our proudest accomplishments. The garden became a reality in the spring of 1997 when the Women's Television Network (WTN) was filming a program called the Herbal Primer. The Herb Society of Manitoba continues to maintain and develop this lovely garden designed by Landscape Architect and Herb Society member, Natasa Juck. Herb Society members volunteer their time and efforts each season to plant, maintain and harvest herbs from the garden. Donations toward the ongoing upkeep of the garden can be made by sending a cheque or money order made out to the Herb Society of Manitoba: Herb Garden and mailing it to the Herb Society of Manitoba, c/o the Assiniboine Park Conservatory, 15 Conservatory Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3P 2N5. Make sure you visit our lovely garden when you visit the park.

Prairie Sage Quarterly
The Society distributes an interesting and informative quarterly publication to its membership called The Prairie Sage Quarterly. The Quarterly contains information about our upcoming speakers and activities as well as informative book reviews and articles on the use of herbs, including great herbal recipes to try. Select back issues are available for viewing from this page.
Government Services
This page will help you locate government services for starting up your own herbal business or to promote your herbal product.

Herbal Recipes
The Herb Society has published two cookbooks to date, both of which are out of print and no longer available. This page highlights some of our favourite herbal recipes and is meant as a resource to our members. If you have a favourite herbal recipe you would like to see added to this page, email the web master at: herbsocietymb@mts.net.
